fail safe - 1964 movie starring henry fonda - a really scary scenario, makes you think of who's at the control of the buttons

what is interesting is the technology depicted in the movie, leaves alot more than meets the eye than you think for that era. i thought most of that technology was 70's to 80's based. 1 humorous note...... they used b-58 hustlers in the movie, & it showed the flight crew in spacious side by side condominium dimensioned size configuration.

There was a re-make for tv in 2000. I believe Richard Dreyfuss played the President and Harvey Keitel was Air Force B/G Warren Black who had to drop the bomb on New York.

A couple things I've heard about this film: the cockpit shots were filmed in the cockpit of an old plane in a hangar in Long Island, and the aircraft footage is very poor quality because the Air Force actively tried to keep the producers from obtaining usable stock footage...
