Hi All!
This probably won't get much traction around here, but, it's worth a try.
One of the other things that occupy my time and mind is some kinds of asian art. The most spectacular exhibition of Ukiyo-e (Also known as Floating World) paintings is on display at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco.
This is a rare chance to see paintings from the largest collection of this type in the world. They rarely come out, and have mostly been in storage for the last hundred years. It is also a rare chance to take a close look into Edo period life, painted by the people who lived it.
Most people are only exposed to this art through woodblock prints. These are the original paintings for those prints in some cases.
I think a few of the folks here would appreciate the Floating World if they knew what it was. The Floating World is good, real good.
