Alright, so you guys have an hour and a half to respond! LOL...
I am giving notice at my current job today. At 5:00 p.m. I work in the legal field... my boss is a super nice guy and all of a sudden I am nervous. I am getting out of the legal field entirely, and have good reasons for leaving... I just don't know how to start the "I quit." Converstation.
I thought that I could just walk into his office and say something to the effect of, I wanted to talk to you for a moment because I am tendering my resignation." Somehow it just doesn't seem right though.
I haven't had to do this in a long time though, and the last time I did, they knew I was looking, so it wasn't a big deal.
Any advice would be great!

tell him you need to make some changes in your life, and that your job is one of them. It doesn't have to be about him, you know. This is about you and what you need, not about him being a bad boss. Just try and mmake that clear, taht you like him and simply need something different, and you'll be fine.

I usually write a letter, spelling out exactly why I am leaving, any issues I had or have, etc. Basically I find a way to tell them to go to he!!, but make them think I liked them... Usually works well. They think I've left them under happy circumstances, and I have told them exactly what I think of them...
