Scott Trade Helicopter

Tue Mar 10, 2009 9:57 pm

Scott Trade has been broadcasting a series of television commercials featuring the founder of Scott Trade piloting a helicopter.

Pay close attention next time you see one. At the conclusion of the commercial the helicopter is seen flying and then it enters a bank or turn and flies away. Look at the chopper's tail rotor--it is not turning. The chopper is flying and turning but the tail rotor is totally stationary. Wow.

You're seeing the airflow guide vanes for the Fenestron unit.

Thanks CAP Flyer.

Since I am a fixed wing guy, you'll have to pardon my ignorance. So those vanes are stationary while the other part of the rotor is whirring away in there--too fast for the eye to see? Is that what I am seeing/not seeing?

Thanks.
