Great story - more power to her. Never know those little small-blocks had that much life in them!

Back in '03 my friend Ray bought a one-owner 1940 Buick Special from the original owner, the widow of a former B-17 pilot named Hal Wallet. This lady could have been Myrna Loy's little sister in both looks and personality - just delightful. The car is a dark green four-door sedan, and when I asked her why she didn't pick out something fancy like a coupe or convertible (she bought it before she got married), she said that she was raised in Pasadena, and nice girls didn't drive sporty cars!

Awsome!

As a car nut I always love seeing original owner cars that have been pampered. Kudos to her. 8) It is even nicer to see a Mercury getting some press time too.

My 1995 Comp T/A was purchased new by a women in her 80's  She went into the showroom to buy a Corvette but bought the Trans Am instead :D It has about 9k miles on it now. I have several pictures of her with the car and her name is on all the paper work.
