airport trouble today..venting.

Mon Sep 21, 2009 1:14 pm

Well today I took a trip to my nearest Regional airport. I couldn't find the EAA chapter building so I stopped in at a office on the airport grounds. Walked in and was greated with weirdness. I asked the lady at the desk that I was looking for the local EAA office to see about taking lessons there and the lady at the desk gave me a really weird look as if I was up to no good. So she got up and walked down a hall way to her suprevisors office and I gotta say she must have been in there for a good 5 minutes. Then I saw a man walk out one of the office room doors(looked like a heavy weight) and he asked what I was doing there and what I wanted! Umm, I said looking for the GA office to see about flight lessons. They said they didn't have one! So I walked out feeling as if I was stupid and after getting back into my car and drove down a ways more I finally saw the EAA office no more then 200 yards away! Ummm...what?! :?: Geez!!

It sounds like a bunch of bored tired people just slaving away at work, and you came in and they had to deal with you.

Sounds like a county employee counting the days till retirement and hoping they still get their retirement benies that were in place when they were hired. And the FED's wonder why aviation is dying on the vine!!!!!!!! :x :x :x :x

Were you wearing a turbine and lugging an RPG strapped to your back?

I wouldn't wear a TURBAN myself, but I don't think there are many TURBINEs I could even lift!

Welcome to the modern American airport where folks are met with scorn, suspicion and disbelief.

This is the attitude that seems to prevail at GA airports if you don't drive up in a BMW or arrive in your Gulfstream....Lord forbid you have a camera with you.

This is the attitude that will kill GA.

(This is a broad generalization on my part but seems to be happening at an increasing rate)

Hi Ztex:

Preach it! That is dead right. Let's take America back by force!
