Since people seem to think that the off-topic section is for political discussion, something that is frowned upon, I have temporarily closed the section. ANY political discussions in any other forum will be deleted and the user suspended. I have had it with the politically motivated comments.

Moderation...

Look guys, I will quit if that will make you happy. I suspect to some degree it will. That said, I stand by what has been done to this point.
I do not get "kicks" out of moderating, and I do have better things to do.
For sure, I do not ever intend to get into any further arguments about why something has been done again - including on this thread. As long as I'm a moderator, I will report to Scott, Zane, Ryan, et all in the Officer's Club on why the decision was made, and if he disagrees with it, I'm done, and that's OK.
Between spammers, whiners, and general immaturity, it's not hard to see why we've lost quality here - as some of you complain of. That's partly why I signed up to help Scott as a moderator, but I fear our moderating is either going to have to stop altogether, and let the wolves completely destroy the forum, or the moderators that are left will actually have to be more strict in order to get things back under hand.
I think some of y'all fail to recognize that it is not the moderation that's causing the loss of quality, but more along the lines of a loss of kindness, civility, and general consideration of other people. Then, when some of us have tried to address this, some of you other guys have aimed at the moderators for trying to bring some civility back. Frankly, that's NOT cool. I'm not the only moderator that feels this way, either. I didn't talk to either of the other mods that locked threads this evening. I didn't need to... and they didn't need help figuring out that either.
I've not banned anyone that wasn't a robot or spammer, because that has typically been Scott's discretion, and I'm not going to make any big moves without making sure the other mods are in agreement. I would prefer if we never had to ban anybody.
I will be talking to the other mods about my continued participation, but if I remain, I will not engage in any further explanations. If we are all more civil to each other, walk a mile in the other guy's shoes, avoid personal attacks when annoyed, and follow Scott's general rules, this forum can again be a great place to share information about warbirds.

As a past moderator on another, now gone forum, I know how you feel, but you can't let it get you down. Everyone who joins the forum should have read the rules. These rules are the law on this forum. Break the rules and you get one warning. Break them again, you're out. Give the moderator any grief over the warning, you're out.

That's it. If anyone doesn't like it, they can leave. No one forced you to join the forum and no one is forcing you to leave. Just don't let the door smack you on the ass on your way out.

My 2 cents.

Chris.

Do not resign.

Moderating a forum is a thankless job. Damned if you do, and damend if you don't; there will always be someone unhappy with what you do, the way you say it, or what you don't do, all according to their particular view of the world.

You are doing a good job. Just keep looking for those who think: "their forum, my rules." :axe: :axe: :axe: :axe:
