I've had a flatbed scanner for several years and it appears that it’s dead. Or it just really does not get along with my computer anymore.
I'm looking to upgrade to something I can with ease scan my 35mm Negatives and get a good quality print or scan. I had an adapter for slides and negatives for the flat bed but it was a real PITA to use.
I have several thousand negatives (or close to that number) I took while in the Navy and I’ve love to get them all on my computer.
Anyone have any suggestions, brands or types? Just remember I’m not rich.

I got me a CanoScan 8400F - and I just love it - easy to handle, good results - also good photo tools come along - and the SilverFast scanning software is a dish !
Or you can have my old Nikon Coolscan LS 2000
I know the Canon is not on the low end of the pricing list, but it's worth the money !

Tim:
I have a brand new (well, used just a couple of times) Hewlett-Packard HP Jetscan 3970, that is yours if you want it.
It is a flatbed, and comes with a slide scanning adaptor.
Just pay for the shipping from Texas once you receive it.
Let me know via PM.
Now, exclusively for slides and negatives, I bought a Konica-Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV a couple of years ago; back then it cost around $400, but I am sure they are cheaper now. Great quality. The only thing is, it is not a flatbed....

Thanks for the offer on the Flatbed Scanner but I'm really looking for one that I can that is more designed for Negatives. I figure I can find an “ok” flatbed pretty cheap in the future.
Its going to be a few months before I can consider actually putting out the money, we been hit with a few big bills in the last couple months.
