Something right out of the Hitchhiker’s Guild...

I saw this picture on CNN's website and could not help but think it was some strange thing out of he Hitchhiker's Guild to the Universe book.

18 hour cross country flight @ 2000ft? I’m not sure how that makes me feel. Then there is the fact that these would be flying over you house and over National Parks and stuff.

Any thoughts on how well this would go over with the public? I’m thinking Faster is the way of the future, not slower.

Tim

Correction on the 2000ft thing, it is 8000ft. that voids that thought.

I read 8000 feet Tim..may be slow by aviation standards, but 175 mph is
a big improvement over ocean liners and tractor-trailer trucks. Interesting
concept..thanks!

Dirigibles are on the rebound. With weather satellites and ducted fans, dirigibles aren't as vulnerable as they once were. I seen proposals for using them for everything from tourism to freight to selective lumbering. Cool stuff
