I need some baseball help

Wed Aug 09, 2006 1:28 pm

I frequent a minor league team here in Texas.

They put up a poll on their website asking about on-field promotions...We think they are trying to get rid of some of the stuff that makes the games so much fun.

In a fit of Internet hooliganism I would like to run up the numbers for the fun stuff.... Razz

If you could please visit the site and vote for anything except "None, prefer music only"

Thanks in advance... :D

Look down the right hand side of the page for the poll.

And remember...as they say in Chicago...Vote Early and Vote Often

I voted Sumo Wrestlers. BTW music only is losing.

I hit sumo wrestling and just kept hitting backspace and voted like 20 times.

I ran up the vote on Big Balls Race. Don't know what it is, but I like the name! :D I saw the picture of Sparky Anerson; man, he's looked old ever since I was a kid watching the Reds and he was probably about the same age I am now.

Dead people vote in Chicago and illegal aliens ("guest workers"?) vote in Los Angeles. What is the difference? :?

"Who cares?"

I do.

What if every other swinging d*ck is so devoid of personal ethics?

Well, I care. Honesty and personal honor are values that are evidently and sorely missing in this world.

If illegal aliens vote or not, or if dead people vote in Chicago, still does not make it right.

Because everyone else jumps into an abysm, doesn't make me want to do it.

The end does not justify the means.

This was a silly internet poll at a minor league baseball team...they set it up so one could vote multiple times...so....

I was just trying to send the team a message...THEY (team front office personnel) were apparently stuffing the ballot box in favor of doing away with on field goofiness (that my kid and many others think is the main reason to go to the game) just so they didn't have to do it, too much work to put out a good product ya know.

So I feel completely justified in my bit of hooliganism....

Gee whiz....

Dude calm down. It was just a stupid poll. Now if it were presidential elections that would be a different matter.

I thought that the last comment by Ztex would have been the end of the thread, but you couldn't let it rest, so here I go:

"Dude calm down. It was just a stupid poll. Now if it were presidential elections that would be a different matter."

Honesty, my young friend, does not differentiate between small or big things.

You either are honest all the time, or then by definition, you are not honest.

Whether it was a stupid poll or not, is besides the point.

Kids notice what the adults do, and then we as adults foster a spirit of a morality of convenience, when we -as you are demonstrating- cannot see the difference.

How can we expect that people be honest in all aspects of life?

Repeatedly voting in order to skew the results of the poll, has given people in that particular case, the impression that a majority is against their plans when, if you look at this without any passion whatsoever, basically a small group of people have anti-democratically bent the results in order to suit their particular points of view.

I believe that the one who should calm down is you, and take the time to learn that you must always do the right thing, whether it is in the small or stupid things or in the bigger issues in life.

I doubt that you will see my point of view, so I will stop now.

This is the end of this discussion as far as I am concerned.

Good day,

pro sports....football, baseball basketball, soccer, on & on have all lost their perspective. these jockstraps have ruined sports. so many are over sexed, over drugged, over pampered & over payed egotistical a -holes who have no grasp of reality. i don't want my kids worshipping these morons. even a bench warmer makes 250 grand a year, but still finds it important to deal dope, rape, & rob liquor stores. college sports are no different. look at the latest idiot maurice "individual of questionable judgement" clarret, picked up with 4 automatic weapons, opened bottle of vodka etc. he went to my college too!! :bs: even the fans can't afford the price of tickets, or try to support the team because of the overblown salaries. don't call me a hypocrite... i'd love to make that kind of $$$$!!!! but i work 80 + hours a week, & I'M NOT PLAYING GAMES!!! I'M WORKING!!!! don't accuse me of sour grapes either, these jockstraps have to be put in check period.

athletes with class & style... tiger woods, lebron james. other than those 2 GENTLEMEN it seems as if star status athletes seem to think they can do as they please. it all starts in college sports..... pampering, fudging their grades etc to pass & play & win, then on to the pros where it gets 100% worse. it's all disgusting & contributes to the ruination of our youth. all the real sport stars & heroes are gone or old, but they had class.

Tom I hope your talking to me cause I never really even liked or watched sports.
