Ok, so I have been spending my Saturday nights up to Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford Vermont. As always I have had my trusty Kodak with me taking still shots and video. Since I do not visit any racing forums I thought I would subject all of you to my photographic ineptitude.
Bear Ridge is a 1/4 mile (around the outside) clay oval. They run a coupe division ( I remember when they ran real coupes there) an IMCA modified division, a sportsman modified division, a four cylinder division (the fast fours) and what they call a hornet division which is four cylinder front wheel drive cars that are unmodified.
My favorite division is the coupes. When I was a kid I used to go up there with my dad and sister and they ran real coupes. Theres are sportsman modified chassis that have had a coupe roof and rear deck grafted on. My favorite is the 6 car of Toby Tatro. They took a roof, cowl, hood and rear deck and actually tried to make their car look like the coupes of old.
Thats all I have time for right now. I have many more pics and videos however including a wicked thunderstorm that was packing 60mph wind gusts. I'll try to post some more tomorrow.
Ok I got really side tracked with e-mail, boards and transcribing tech specs for AAA systems. I'm here now, but I am just about to head off to bed, sooooooooooooooooooo.......
You are only getting youtube links tonight.
On Saturday June the second I went to the races. The weather was most threatening and it didn't seem like they would get going in time. They didn't. We had severe thunderstorms roll through the area with wind gusts up to 60 mph. I wound up having to go to work that night because of downed trees. What follows are short videos that I shot while at the track.
Ok, I have just a minute before I have to bolt out the door and head to work. I figured I would post up what little I have on the IMCA modifides division. It's not much I am afraid. One picture and one video of a qualifiying heat. I have not had time to do much with them, however I may be able to get more in the next few weeks as I am in contact with one of the drivers in that division.
