Ober, I can't recall about Air Force, but Colo won a national championship a few years back. Of course they needed a little help from the refs who gave them 5 downs instead of 4 on the goal line against Mo. They upset Ok last year and about 5 years ago upset Texas, and they beat teams like Texas Tech and the Aggies that are close, if not quite in the top 25.

Boulder is such a nice place to live, ,pretty with a good climate and the campus is great, the school pretty good, that once recruits visit here they are usually impressed. And a guy who is good, but not great, might have more chance to play here rather than sit on the bench for three years at somewhere like Texas, OU, or USC. If a recruit goes to Texas, he is part of a big pond and likely to win most of their games, But he may be behind someone like Tommy Nobis, or Earl Campbell or Vince Young and nobody is going to beat them out.

I enjoyed the game tonight, Texas defensive line was tough to penetrate and put pressure on the CU QB. Final score Texas 38, Colorado 14.

The next three weeks will be harder.

And the CU 14 were basically against second stringers.

I have to be honest and give Colo their due. I know the last touchdown that C U made was when Texas had all reserves in for the most of the last quarter and the final drive and about 35 yard TD pass was against the reserves, no starters. C U had the 2nd string QB in, but still had 1st string line and receivers. The first touchdown CU scored was when a short pass from McCoy bounced off the hands of the tight end and into the hands of the C U defensive back. The Texas first string defense came in, I think, made some good plays, but on 4th down CU got a short pass for a TD. Texas has lost 3 tight ends, one to the NFL early, then 2 to injury so they are really hurting there.

It is strangely quiet in this area tonight. (We grew up in Nebraska and called Texas home for a long time. 8) )

Yeah, how 'bout those Longhorns!!! If they only won one game each season, I would hope that it would be against OU.

It was something to see the Texas-OU game. They were passing us to death for awhile, but Texas just kept coming and finally had some luck and good plays. The last time Texas upset OU when they were ranked number 1 was in 1963 by 28-7 and I was there at the Cotton Bowl. Nebraska almost upset Texas Tech today, they gave it a good effort.

Yes, B-29 there is a little dusting of snow on the hills today in Aspen, but the sun is back out now and it is blue skies and beautiful. The trees are green and gold.
