You have a General Lee right? The General and a Mustang? That rules!
Any time that I see a "General Lee" Dodge Charger it reminds of how the idiots who put together that dumb TV show and even dumber movie wrecked over 300 Dodge Chargers doing it. That is no exageration, those idiots responsible for those shows wrecked over 300 Dodge Chargers. They really should be shot.
Those idiots are even talking about a sequel. So attention all 1969 Dodge Charger owners: Don't sell your car to anyone that you don't know or it will end up a wrecked General Lee. Any one who does sell a Dodge Charger to those idiots who paint up the General Lees for TV or film should be prohibited from owning a Dodge Charger for the rest of their lives. As someone who truly appreciates fine and collectable automobiles, it really makes my blood boil when I see a General Lee Dodge Charger. I can't help but think of the 300 wrecked Dodge Chargers it took to get here.
TonyM.

It was visiting Richmond RAAF base a couple of years ago when there was an airshow on. I asked if I could bring my boat on to the base to do this shot. I had permission but once I got to the gate the base commander pulled the pin on me (he babbled on about security and stuff like that).
I wasnt prepared to give up and saw an Army guy with a jeep.
I asked him if he would tow the boat onto the base (I didnt tell him what the base commander said).
He was all excited about the boat and just hooked it up and off he went. We dragged this 3oft boat right accross the base and into the hangar. David Jones took the shot and then we dragged it straight back out. Not one person pulled us up. I still cant believe we got away with it.
Its funny because the Mustang now has a Packard in it and my boat has the correct engine for the plane a 70 series Rolls. Dave has been a wealth of knowledge since we have met. We also have a similar interest in old Datsuns.
The model plane is a 1933 Hall Bulldog racer that I scratch built in 4 weeks (even the dummy radial) for the Nationals here. I was judged second in the static judging but crashed it in the flying part of the competition.
The Runabout was built in Lake Como Italy in the 50,s. I found the boat in a shed in suburban Sydney were it had sat for 35 years. The boat needed a full resto. I use the boat around once a fortnight.
Aggressor was built in 1961 by a 19 year old apprentice Dave Tenny. It took him 10 years to get it running right. In the 71/72 season she was undefeated 10 starts ten wins including the Griffith Cup (equivalent of the US Gold Cup).
She crashed on Sydney harbour on the last race meet of this season nearly killing her crew and leaving co pilot Les Scott paralyzed.
The boat never raced again. I found here in a terrible condition 8 years ago in a shed in Bendigo Victoria. I spent 6 months full time (7 days a week) restoring it. She ran again for the first time last March and raced for the first time in a 20 mile river race in August. Something is wrong with the fuel pressure and the Bendix drive in the starter. I have to pull the motor down again to see if I can fix it.
Considering I knew nothing about Merlins when I bought it I even surprised myself that I got it running again I had some pretty good help).
I hope you enjoyed me showing you some of my toys.
Now its time to tackle a plane.
Thanks again 262 Crew (Garrett)Dave
