I hear you. I love cruising around the airport in the Mustang on a nice sunny day. Just kind of being a bum going from hangar to hangar B.S.ing with the guys and gals that fly from here. It is a nice bunch.

You are right about the Mustang. One would think the General Lee (which is owned by myself, my dad, and my uncle) would grab more attention. But it doesn't. As a matter in fact, when I showed it to a girl I was dating at the tiem we finished it, she said, "That is the ugliest car I have ever seen. Why is it orange?" I almost passed out. After 3 years of putting it back together to hear that. For some reason the Mustang does get more attention form the ladies, and the guys all love the General. I have never made it to that one, but I have been to Mopar Madness in Carlise, PA. It is a big get together.

Living here on the left coast, I've never seen a General Lee before, I think it would be an awesome car to have, thanks for sharing...........

Thanks, it is alot of fun. We don't drive it a ton, because it does have history with Warner Brothers, and my dad and uncle are those type to put mirrors under it. I like doing that from time to time, but I love to drive them as well. I was amazed at how many little kids knew what the Dukes of Hazzard was even before the movie. I would take it to get ice cream, or go to a car cruise, and little kids(and their dads) would go nuts. It is alot of fun. It stays in a climate controlled garage with my dads 69 GTO and my uncles 57 Chevy. The Mustang stays in a climate controlled hangar here at KAGC.

Don't drive it a ton? Mirrors under it? Climate controlled garages??

Huh???

I could be wrong but it sounds like "Trailor Queen Central"

Nothing wrong with that I suppose, I love drive my cars to and froe. It's awesome driving to out of state car show on the open road. I get so many people starring and thumbs-ups. Not to mention all the truckers and folk honking. Feels pretty good. Now by no means is my '68 GTO 100 points concourse (more like 30 :D ). And like it that way. It allows my go out and enjoy it with worrying about rock chips or bug guts. There is guy at our local cruise who was talking to me about his 69 SS Camaro. He said "I spent $20k on this paint job 16 years ago and it still looks nice" he goes on "and in the at time it's never seen rain" sure enough a couple of cruis-ins if it looked like it was going to get cloudy he packed it up and went home. I just don't get it I guess.

Some people wear the fact that they trailor their cars or they never see rain like a badge of honor.....I see it more as a handicap. I see where they are coming from. They put all the time and money into it and if they drive it, it'll just deteriorate over time.

I'm getting ready to start on my 66 GTO and I'm planning on restifying it and it'll look like a polished diamond when I'm done, but I'm still gonna hit the road and drive it like I stole it. but she'll be built as a driver and in 10 to 15 years if she's starting to look tired again then I'll take her apart and do it all over again.

I hear you Shay. When I say a ton, I mean all year round. I drive it form time to time May through September, and then she is put in the garage for the winter. We don't put a lot of miles on her, for the simple fact that there are alot of cruises right around where we live. The Mustang gets driven a little more. I love them both, and will never get rid of them, Now my dad's 69 goat, and my uncle's 57 chevy? They are both restored and are what you would call garage queens. They are beautiful, but they are more like that guy you know with the camero. I love my cars, and upkeep them to a pretty high standard, but you need to drive them.

Here is me with my bosses car at work. He washed it, and I was threatening to air dry it for him.

Not exactly a car, but the best I can do at the moment. 2WD Dnepr, both the sidehack wheel and the rear motorcycle wheel are driven. Adverse yaw, big time!!

Could be called "Dago Red meets Dago Yellow"

The door handle busted off a couple years ago and while waiting for a cheap-o replacement I found on ebay I rigged up a coathanger which worked just fine.
