, but you never answered my question:
Who are you trying to arm, and how many of those can be fired by one person at one time?

Let's see, for me, my last trip to the range I had the following:
1903 Springfield
M-1 Garand
10/22
AR-7
AR-15
UZI
Helwan
2x C96
2x PA-63
and a .22 gallery rifle
Plus ammo,
I had several hundred rounds of 45acp, a brick .22,100 rnds of .223, several hundred rnds 9mm, 100 rnd 9x18, 25 rnds 30 Mauser, 60 rnds 30-06
Oh, and I shot every one of them, and I carried all of them to the range using my Goldwing....
I could have carried more, but I had to go to work directly from the range so I had my toolbox, nitrogen tank and regulator, hydraulic fluid.
I resealed a nose strut on a T-41

Each of them can be fired by one person at a time.

James, I see you've let your hair grow back since then!
Deputy Commissioner Kieran Walshe said police were extremely pleased with the results and thanked the community for helping reduce the amount of weapons in circulation before they ended up being used for crime.
Oh brother... I hate to start this discussion again, but I cannot tell you how little I think of people like this. This statement suggests that all guns will end up being used in a crime unless surrendered to the authorities- basically that all people can't help but to enter into a life of crime eventually if they just happen to posess some throwing stars! So how many throwing stars and anti-tank rifles have been used in the commision of crimes in Australia?
Sheesh!

Each of them can be fired by one person at a time.
But the real question is d'you get any help
cleaning them?
PS: Can't see any point in entering a debate about guns, bdk (or anyone else), given the rigid views people have on the question. Some seem a bit sensitive, with shoe comparisons - hardly a big deal. FWIW, though, I agree that people will not automatically enter a life of crime as a gun owner.
Sadly I had to surrender the Boys Anti-Tank Rifle, so I can't offer any crimes with one, bdk.
Cheers - duck!

Here we go again, it's a sensituve subject like aeroplanes.

It has taboo parts to it. It's also a right that is continually under attack by same types who live in red light district of Berkely and San Fran. You know folks like jessee Jackson, Sean Pene, Gav. Newsom, Liberachi, and Little Rich.

Lighten up - it was just a joke.

Matt, I went target shooting twice recently. I can hit a target mostly, but not center punch like you. The thing I did not like about it is the noise. I had ear plugs and a hearing protector, and it still hurt. Later, I sat in the car with ear plugs and the windows up and the noise is too much. I'll bet if you guys shoot regularly you have significant hearing loss, except maybe a 22. Have you had your hearing checked?
And as far as my reading this site, or any other, I think that is a pretty basic right. I don't want to turn someone's topic into a gun debate, but if you do, why not start your own topic on that subject and you may get lot's of replies.
A2C, I am surprised to read that Liberachi lives in San Fran, Berkeley. Next time you see him, get an autograph, it might be worth a lot.

Bill, I always wear hearing protection and found some great electronic ear muffs at Harbor Freight
http://www.harborfreightusa.com/usa/ite ... Protection
They run about $25 and work great, you can carry on a normal conversation and when the gun goes off, they instantly deaden the sound. I also use them when riviting. My hearing has degraded but not from shooting, it is from working around the airports and riding motorcycles, prob the motorcycles did the most damage, all the wind noise, even thru the helmet.
I wish I could go shooting more, but as it is I go 2-3 times a year. Right now I am gathering up my reloading gear to try and get caught up on that, I have a .50 cal ammo can full of 9mm brass that needs to be loaded.
I am lucky in that I ave always been a good shot, when I was a kid, I use to pick wood bumble bees out of the trees with a BB gun.
One thing I do enjoy about going to the range is the number of people that come by to look at my collection, one guy was priceless, last time I was out I had both C-96 broomhandles laid out on the table, he glanced at the table as he walked past and all of a sudden he stopped, came back and stared at the Broomhandles. He could not believe I was shooting them as in all the years he had been to the range, he had never seen any being shot and he had heard they were dangerous to shoot. I said pick one, he did, I loaded 2 rnds and let him fire a Broomhandle, the smile was priceless, but then he said he could now kick himself for passing up several of them over the years.

Totally agree with Matt on good hearing protection. I've got a hearing loss, but not from shooting (from sitting up to 12 hrs at a time listening to what people in funny uniforms were doing....). I use good quality earplugs and a good headset
As for "days on the range", this is my main "playground" (the targets on the far left are 1000 meters):
And occasionally I'll get a result like this (80.4 mm group at 300 meters)
with one of these (40X Remington):

Hey Bill, drop by a gunsmith and find yourself a set of the plugs taht stop shot blast, but not speaking level sound. Then put a good set of cups over them, and you will be just fine. After Somolia I had a similar problem and this combo did me just fie on the range. In teh field you just have to suck it up, cause you need your ears to be as sharp as you can get them, but on the range the more the better.
Bob- what kidn of scope is that? I see your .40 and raise you my 7mm mag

Mines lighter and sneakier and I can still fill a silver dollar at a grand

Let me edit that: I coudl fifteen years ago he he he!
AC2--you should really start reading the newspaper buddy. Liberacci is rolling in his grave to hear you talking about San Francisco and Berkley that way. Specially since he lived in NEITHER place.

Muddy, I think the best way to preserve my hearing is to avoid loud noises if I can. I am not a big target shooter, I just went a couple of times with my Son David, who is a bona fide gun nut. He likes to be well armed when he runs around the woods in grizzly country. He is 23 and already part deaf. I used to hunt and shoot as a kid, but really haven't in years.
If I only flew jets or T-28s, I wouldn't care so much about hearing, but not being able to listen to a Merlin would be a shame.
I'd bet anyone who shoots large guns regularly has ear damage.
Matt, you might find it hard to believe, but some folks may not know what a "C-96 broomhandle"is.

Well, if you read it more carefully, it says folks like, which means similar in character, etc. I didn't say these folks live there.
You know folks like jessee Jackson, Sean Pene, Gav. Newsom, Liberachi, and Little Rich.
