I know alot of you guys have your own websites. Do you pay for them or did you get them for free?

If you get them for free, they come loaded with ads and spyware.

If you pay for them, you can control -to a point- spyware and spammers.

A web site costs (a small one though) about $25.00 a month, and if you want your own domain, you have to register it.

I set up a web-site that cost about $200, with a domain register and fees paid one year in advance.

Good luck

Tulio

I pay for mine, I think it's $13 a month and the domain was $5. I usually make up all of the hosting costs from DVD sales.

For the Wings Over Akron Site, I use WebsiteSource.com. It is what Scott uses for WIX and he told me about it. It is only $6.85 a month. I don't know programing yet so it has some really great templates to use and it has really good tech support.

I use http://www.freewebs.com for now, but will probably switch to http://www.whipanorbit.com/shared.html very soon after a recommendation from a guy I work with.

I use MSN groups at no cost. Yes it has ads but they don't overpower the site. No viruses ever and I control spammering by approving all members before they can post.

I use LunarPages for the SAH site, and haven't had any problems other than not bing able to figure out how to do the upgrades I kept geting for the message board. Our group pays around $100 a year for the deal we went with.

I think I pay about 10 a month for mine with domain name registration. I use geocities and develop my own pages and site coding.
