Old Georgie was in town today.

He came to talk at the Local High School to explain his plan for the country. Literally right up the street form me. I found it interesting though they were VERY descriminating of who would be of the 500 people to attend the meeting. Meaning only staunch right wingers.

What was sad is that all the protestors were only allowed to assemble in 1 area, which was at an intersection 2 miles away from the High School. This was as close to the President as the Secret Service would allow. An intersection that the Motor Cade didn't even pass through.

Seems like the Bush Administrations stand point is that you can protest all you want and exercise you 1st amendment right just as long as we don't have to see you.

I guess in a perfect world the 500 attendees would be comprised of all different points of view and be allowed to ask the raw hard questions. Not control the people and questions to the point where it's almost scripted.

Whether you like the guy or not is your choice, but as the highest public servant he shouldn't have the luxury of picking and choosing what citizens he listens to.

All voices should be heard.

He's gonna be about an hour-and-a-half up the road from me tomorrow. Same deal..a speech at a local high school. Suffice to say whenever he opens his mouth it's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

When HRH Clinton came to Houston (He, of the expensive hair cuts) protesters were kept as far away as possible, concentrated in areas where the motorcade wouldn't even go by.

Whether you say nuclear, nuke-clear, nuculear, as long as you get the basic concept on how the thing goes boom, who cares how you pronounce it? Does it make a person an "idiot" for not pronouncing words the way you do?

What about spelling? If you say hanger, and I say hangar, does it make you stupid?

Or what about "servicable" when I write is "serviceable"? Not knowing the difference between peddle and pedal, or principal and principle . . . the list goes on.

And let me state this: I did not vote for George Bush.

Saludos,

Tulio

This is standard GOP playbook tactics for this administration. His public appearances are usually all by invite only. I think it all goes back to the "Bush living in a bubble" thing.

33 dead in Virginia, a very bad day. 3300 dead in Bush's war, a "surge"?

Well I do have to give George Bush credit...unlike McCain he's at least smart enough not to visit an Iraqi market in Baghdad surrounded by over 100 heavily armed soldiers and Apache choppers flying security overhead while commenting how things have dramitically improved and that it's safe to finally walk the streets again.
