I heard on the news today that after the whole Jet Blue situation, Congress wants to make sure things like that never happen again. They are saying that if airlines don't improve service they are going to make sure the American people don't have to suffer anymore.

I don't know, it just kind of struck me funny, but it seemed odd that with all the issues in the country today that they actually discussed this. Not that I would enjoy sitting 9 hours on a jet at an airport, but is it really up to the United States Congress to discuss customer service? :?

If it returns my pay to pre-deregulation levels and limits the thievery practiced by all airline CEOs, I'm probably all for it!

Couldn't do anyworse. Every airline says they aren't making any money, so the government could do better.

Well, like I said, I wouldn't want to wait on a plane for hours and I would love to have cheaper tickets. But is this issue the most important for Congress to debate?

No, it probably isn't... However... The subject broaches CEO compensation and how out of whack it is with what their employees are paid. This DEFINITELY warrants congressional action.

Ok, I'm passing the soapbox to somebody else... lol...

Good point! :D

I guess part of my thought came from listening to the beginning of the news report:

-Stuff about the VT shooter
-Death toll in Iraq
-Local Shootings
-Shootings in general
-Illegal immigration
Then
-Congress talks about customer service!

Timing is everything! :D
