And yet more good things from Detroit
If you want a good/bad story... Back in 92' I had the pleasure of sitting next to a fellow Designer/Engineer for about one year while we did the Ev1. At first he did not talk to me or anyone else around him on a social level so I was yacking to one of my friends and he says tomarrow just say "good morning Grasshopper" and you won't be able to shut him up!!
A few years before this he was going out to his car from the store arms full and these two native Detroiters hit him in the back. So, luckly when the police arrived he had witnesses. the Two gentlmen were on the ground unaware of their surroundings. He later had to go to court because they were trying to sue him, both were in casts and one had a neck brace. They said that he beet them so badly that they couldn't return to work (they were out on bond). Judge tossed it out..they still went to jail
A little on my friend Victor, he is about 5'4" and was in the 1936 Olympics (I think for Finland). then was pressed into Drafting in a bunker drafting parts for the new jets that the Germans were coming up with. At the end of the war he and his wife made it to America, Korea came about and he joined the Army and became a citizen. He brought in some ribbon and medals that he recieved and was most proud of his Purple Heart.
He was also a 5th degree black belt in karate. and was working his way up in judo because it was less stressfull on his old bones..
He never admitted to or said exactly how old he was but if you ran in the 36' olys' your old...
Hopefully a little positive on the negative
Cheers
Tony
