And get to the top of the mountain.

On the way up the trail (Camel's Hump Mt) my camera died, like dead, deceased, no pictures, no turn on, nothing. So I was not able to take any pictures of the wing section that is easily found along the trail. I looked around a bit but did not see any other parts and headed back down the mountain after a long hike.

Anyone have this problem with the Canon Rebel XT? I'm going to try and replace the small battier to see if that helps. I hope that these camera's last more 2 years. I was just starting the third year with it and I can't say I every dropped it or even banged it hard.

The only other things left up there Tim are the engines. Those have been rolled partways down the mountain. The rest was scrapped out in the early fifties by an enterprising man with an axe.

A friend of mine researched the wreck extensively. The man who scrapped it found a .50 that was not policed up in 1944. He leaned it against a tree with the intent of returning for it but never did. My friend now has that along with several artifacts from the site.

I did find out something very interesting in this whole painful experience. SLR Cameras have a shuttle failure rating, the Digital Rebel XT is about 50,000 clicks. I figure I'm at 30,000 or 40,000. I know that I've rolled over the counter at least 3 times or about that, and I guess the more rapid shooting you do the more stress you put on the shutter which can cause faster failure.

I shot airshows and my wife's concerts which I take lots of photos in 3 or 5 hot bursts. I think the shutter died and maybe cause somehting else to fail, I'll find out when I ship it out for repair.
