Ok, I just heard about htis news and I am p!ssed! Here is the details:

Disgusted by the actions of a few in what has unfortunately become another Memorial Day "tradition." Make yourself comfortable, you know how I get....In Orcas Island, Washington, it was discovered SUNDAY that vandals had burned dozens of small American flags that decorated Veterans' graves for Memorial Day and replaced many of them with hand-drawn swastikas.
Forty-six flag standards were found empty and another 33 flags were in charred tatters. Swastikas drawn on paper appeared where 14 of the flags had been.
Bad enough, right? But wait...there's more...the flags were replaced by the local VFW...and then...The vandals struck AGAIN on Memorial Day after a guard left at dawn. This time, the vandals left 33 of the hand drawn swastikas.
I agree with the Sheriff who said in a statement: "This is not an act of free speech. This is a crime." But, Folks, if somehow they are caught, what would the charges be? Nothing serious, I'm sure. If they're found to be juveniles, even less.
It's so sad Folks, so sad, that this kind of thing should happen, but unfortunately it does and even more unfortunately, most likely, will continue.

Time to open a can of whoop-ass!

Hmmm...since they're into swastikas I guess it's time to use some Gestapo tactics on them when they're caught. Probably a couple of dumb-azz punks with nothing better to do.

before i replace my barrel in my m-1 i wanted to see use some tracer rounds.... can i join in?

I heard the same report. It is strange, I have been to Orcas Island, and it isn't a place one would think of for a something like this. It seems more than just mindless juveniles. I wonder if there is some local issue that outsiders aren't aware of that could be behind this. It is a beautiful resort area, and I don't remember seeing any skinhead types there that you would associate with Swastikas.

We had a few dopes pull down the American flags along the Memorial Day parade route..........They were on every telephone pole along the route -- we ended up with about a quarter-mile stretch without flags.......Really gets me aggravated.........

There is NO excuse for this.

I just saw the evening TV news with the sheriff from Orcas and he said they don't have any suspects, nor any groups or even individuals that would be thought in any way connected to this.

We're all pretty sure that ours is the result of "the usual suspects" -- a group of punky brats who have yet to obtain their licenses and so do stuff like this for "fun" -- Unfortunately, we've a dang-all chance of proving it!

While not carrying the mean spirit of those that vandalized the flags, I was disappointed to see "NO WAR" protesters in front of the entrance to Golden Gate National Cemetary yesterday, where hundreds of people came to pay their respects, most likely to family members. Any other day it wouldn't have bothered me as much, but yesterday was not the day for this protest.
