An interesting piece of memorabilia

I received an interesting piece of memorabilia the weekend. These items were found in my Grandfathers stuff after he passed away, apparently he had brought back from Germany after WWII. All the pieces include the swastika and eagle on them and the cutlery feels like aluminium. I not familiar with German stuff so if any one can shed some light on the pieces and the markings, I'd appreciate it.

Unfortunately my Grandfather never talked much about being in WWII but I do know he served in a Canadian tank regiment as the commanders gunner. As a kid I remember asking him if he ever killed anyone in the war and all he would say is "I just shot at their feet to see how fast they could run". I always got the feeling there was more but he didn't seem to want to talk about it.

Anyway, I was pretty happy to get it and posted a few photos for your viewing pleasure.

I am far from being even knowledgeable on this matter; having said this, my first guess would be, that the markings have something to do with the Luftwaffe?

The Eagle and the swastika, I seem to recall were emblematic of the Luftwaffe.

Do not ever send them to have them appraised or identified. Take them yourself and have the work done in your presence.

I have lost a couple of valuable items because I trusted the appraiser . . . .

I did a search on my lunch break and found out that the Fl.U.V on the bottom means Flieger Unterkunft Verwaltung, (Flight Barracks Administration). So it looks like it is Luftwaffe.

thank you for the confirmation data. Bohemia is of course, in Sudeten lands takeon over by the Germans (Bohemia and Moravia) from Czechcoslovakia.(sp?)

Bohemia is Czech but it may also be a porcelain manufacturer..like the Felda Rohn...

What about "Felda" and "Rhon"?

Of interest, the 45th Infantry Division museum in Oklahoma City, has an interesting collection of cutlery, china and assorted tableware from Germany, all of it from the WW-II era.

As for the Felda and Rhon on the one cup, according to one of the sites, Felda is a name of the river in the area the porcelain was made (or the company originates) and Rhon refers to the mountains in the same area.

Stadtlengsfeld is the name of the town in the Wartburgkreis district of Thuringia Germany.

The glider represents the history of the area which is said to be the birthplace of German glider technology and home of several famous glider pilots. This style of glider logo was used on my cup was used between 1933 and 1945.
