fail safe - 1964 movie starring henry fonda - a really scary scenario, makes you think of who's at the control of the buttons :?: :?: what is interesting is the technology depicted in the movie, leaves alot more than meets the eye than you think for that era. i thought most of that technology was 70's to 80's based. 1 humorous note...... they used b-58 hustlers in the movie, & it showed the flight crew in spacious side by side condominium dimensioned size configuration.

Good film !!!
There was a re-make for tv in 2000. I believe Richard Dreyfuss played the President and Harvey Keitel was Air Force B/G Warren Black who had to drop the bomb on New York.

A couple things I've heard about this film: the cockpit shots were filmed in the cockpit of an old plane in a hangar in Long Island, and the aircraft footage is very poor quality because the Air Force actively tried to keep the producers from obtaining usable stock footage... :?
