I am seriously considering buying a new PC specifically for playing FSX.

Is it worth the investment?
What are the best forums to cruise for info?
Add-ons? I have used Simviation in the past for CFS2
What is the online environment like?

I have to admit that I have no previous experience with Flight Simulator, so any info/opinions are appreciated

Dante

You're going to need a whole lotta horsepower to run FS X. I've heard a lot of people complain that they get better performance out of the old versions. I've been running FS X for a while, and I have to say that I can't get the frame rates I want to make the game really pop. My current desktop has a 256 meg video card, 1.5 gigs of ram, and a 2.8 ghz celeron processor. Granted, not the best, but still better than average.

I do like that you can get really, really, really good detail now out of some of the 3rd party terrains. Even the freeware stuff looks good.
