Now, now. The day Confederate is equated with Nazi... That's just wrong. I guess some of us will have to teach you a history lesson someday - but not on this board.
Hmmm. I didn't 'equate' the two together - you did. I didn't change the name of the CAF...

I don't think you'd like my comprehension questions at the end of your history lesson.
I'm not suggesting 'banning' the swastika. I've just had a couple of conversations with people who find it very upsetting - for them, and for that reason, I'm cautious about waving it about.
Of course we are all very robust about other people being offended, but as Ryan's kindly shown, we come over all sensitive about our own signs and symbols.
FYI, I apologize for wording that badly. I was not trying to say you actually did equate the two. More of a gentle chiding for including it in the argument. After all, you did do the duck thing!

Oh, and there are issues with the Confederate cause that I'd be the first to admit and denounce! However, some history there is often conveniently overlooked... but still kept alive by the descendants of non-slave-owning Southerners who's fathers were honorable and fought for a diversity of important issues. Comprehension questions welcome.
What I find odd is how people equate the placing of the symbol in it's accurate, historical context, (with a major qualification that the symbol is not immoral by itself) with somehow waving the flag about.
Ryan
BTW, I reckon I should probably drop the Confederate argument before the thread gets locked... feel free to respond, but I won't post again on the topic here. Email me about it if you feel the need. I
ain't some indiscriminate, racist, KKK type like some.
