So I was working on the inside of the house this morning and my Mom got off work early and dropped by to see how it was coming, only to catch me eating a large slab of ribs. Now, don't get me wrong, I do eat other food items, but you don't really need anything else with well smoked ribs, do you? You have all that brown cane sugar on them, that's gotta count as a veggie right? And I was drinking a Barq's for god's sake. That has high fructose corn syrup in it--there you go. I'm getting my fruit for the day. And I smoke my ribs with apple firewood. You can't get much more fiber than a big hunk of Apple tree for god's sake. I wasn't getting a starch like fries but I'm cutting that out cause it's so bad for you.

But was this good enough for my Mother? Nooooo. She had a fit and TOOK MY RIBS AWAY and has ordered me to come cook dinner at her house from now on.

I'm telling you guys, I could cry. I'm only about fifteen pounds overweight now, anyway. I even run two miles in the mornings so Jennie can get some exercise. I guess I shouldn't complain--She's a pretty good cook and I'll get to learn how to cook all those Mississippi recipes I miss. I also can't complain about seeing my Momma more often. God knows she put a lot of worried nights in while I was in the service.

Anyway, I just thought I would warn you: Women don't think barbq is actually all the food groups. You should make sure you have a bag of carrots on the table in case one sneaks up on you.

Hey Muddy:

I'll respond to this, so long as you respond to the pm I sent you.

Thanks

Sorry to hear your on a diet. That's a funny story though.

Ironicily, my mom cooked up a mess of rib's for us yesterday along with macironi salad (lot's of mayo), baked beans, and a yummy pumpkin pie for dessert.

try the stress or divorce diets..... either 1 works wonders, & the pounds just melt off. :Hangman:

How true Tom, how true.
I am finally back to the weight listed on my drivers license for the first time in over 20 years. My doctor gave me a choice, I take the weight off or he takes it off.
I took it off myself. :D

My wife and I "split up" a year ago and I lost 30 pounds in a month :) Best thing that has ever happened to me, looking back. I wouldn't recommend it, but it's done wonders for my "girlish figure" and I can do what I want with my life again. I've eaten more bass since I got home than I did in the entire 9 years we were together :)

I am in the middle of a diet as well. It sucks, but I have big goals.
