Hi All,

With the impending completion of Uncle Deann's Mustang, 43-12252, owned by Jack Rousch, I have been in research mode looking for more information on Dean's War years. I have found comprehensive lists on the recipients of many WWII ribbons, medals, and awards, but nothing on the DFC. If there is such a list, I would be very grateful if someone could tell me where I might find it, and if not, does anyone have any suggestions about how I might create one? Thanks in advance.

Best wishes,
Karen :D

"...the government did not keep a cumulative record of DFC recipients therefore no one knows how many were issued or to whom"

This is per the DFC Society website

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Hi Karen,

It might be worth your while contacting Hugh Halliday to ask if he knows. He has been responsible for the 6,000-page online Honours and Awards site maintained by the Air Force Association of Canada. It lists the significant decorations, honours and awards received by nearly four generations of Canadian Air Force personnel during war and peace, from World Wars I and II, between the wars and postwar up until 1965. http://www.airforce.ca/index.php3?page=honours

Although of course this deals with honours and awards to Canadians, he may have knowledge of a similar project for Americans.

Good luck
