Hi Guys,

Ok, I have Scott's nod, so here is the next step.... Let's begin with cover design, and categories......(see previous post for category suggestions, or PLEASE suggest some of your own!)

I thought for the cover, perhaps the WIX logo?

I have been looking into ways to give Scott the maximum profits, while still putting everything we feel is important into the book. What I have decided is I will do the books myself. I just bought a comb binding machine, and I already have a laminator, so I should be able to produce a good quality result.

Final approval will be Scott's. If he doesn't approve it, I will make any and all changes he asks for. I will send a completed copy of the book to Scott, and if he likes it, I will print the copies myself.

One of the biggest advantage to this is, I can include pictures, anticdotes, bio's, I don't need to place a minimum order, I can use LOTS of color!!! I can print as many additional copies as anyone wants or needs. I refill my own ink cartridges, so it saves a ton of money! Most importantly, almost all the money will be profit. The only cost will be the paper, the laminating sheets for the covers, and dividers, and the plastic combs for binding the books.. I can also do advertising pages if anyone thinks there would be any interest in this.

So, come on guys.....Let's hear your ideas???? Please!

Karen

could always try a cake with the wix logo on the top of it?

or how about a plate with various items correctly coloured laid on as the wix logo? ( made from the recipes within of course. )

Hi Rob,

Thank you for the compliment. It is greatly appreciated. We are thinking along the same lines, I think. I agree with your ideas for pictures. I had also thought we could include pictures at the beginning of every chapter, perhaps on the back of the dividers. I have done extensive graphic designs, so incorporating pictures, and text, will not be a problem. I may be able to put several food items below the logo, but I will get into that later.

We still need a name, and a general color scheme. I look forward to this being a totally collaberative effort.

Best wishes,
Karen

May I suggest that anything you guys decide to put on the cover of the book, should include a photo of any airplane, with a Shark-Mouth? You know, food and big teeth . . .

Saludos,

Tulio

Love the idea Tulio!

Sooooooooo, what type of Warbird is it going to be???? Ya all know my preference! Do we have any artists out there that might be willing to create something, or should I try to do it with an actual picture? I am very capable when it comes to computer design, but as far as pencil and paper, I can't draw stick figures!

My binding machine arrived the other day, and I think it will work out great. The only thing I didn't realize is it only punches fife sheets of paper at a time! However it will bind up to 105, so I am planning the book to be 8.5" X 11", and up to 100 pages thick. It should make an excellent presentation!

Since I am not getting as much input as I had hoped for, I propose we use the "Regional" divisions for the recipes. I.E. New England, South Western U.S. England, Ireland, France, etc....and then have a little map showing where this particular region is?

We still need to name the book! At this point I'm thinking it should be called, "A bunch of shy guys who don't want to admit they like to cook, or eat, who also love Warbirds"!!!   I think it is a bit wordy though!

If you don't cook, or don't know of any recipes, tell me your favorite food, and I will try to find a recipe for it.

For the opening phase, I am pleased with the amount of interest, I just really would like to hear from our worldwide WIX'Rs as well.

Rob, if you do have to "Visit" anyone.....please do take pictures, that would be great next to their recipe :!:  :P

Thanks Guys, this is coming along well!
Go Eagles :!: :!: :!:
Best wishes,
Karen
