Was sitting here wondering how many of us are out of work or layed off. I have been furlowed since December from the BNSF railroad. I was really lucky to find job as a truck driver until the recall, in about a year. Not much else I can do, but there's a big difference in pay from RR conductor to delivery driver.

Sorry to hear that. Keep a positive attitude and get out of the house once in awhile, as sitting at home will drive you nuts trying to look for work. Do what you can do and try not to worry about the rest.

But since you asked... My company gave me notice yesterday and Friday the 27th will be my last day. I refuse (this time) to let this get me down or get sad or depressed about it. I started in 2004 here and I'm surprised that I lasted this long. The thing that sucks is tapping into what little savings I have and starting over someplace. No matter, Head up, look forward ‘cause there’s nothing but opportunities ahead.

(Come ask me if I feel the same way in 6 weeks...lol). :P

I've been lucky enough to still have my job, but there have been people shuffled around at my work. I should count my blessing working in the grocery industry (people always gotta eat, even in hard times).

From what I can tell, things here in Canada are nowhere near as bad as in the USA. I hope you guys down there can recover sooner rather than later.

Cheers,

David

Well, I finally got the hammer dropped on me yesterday as I was on my way out the door. They cut my full time hours in half. I'm not too shocked as things have slowed down in the Off Road Equipment industry a lot. Oh well, at least I still have a "part time" job until the market picks up.
