As per a Scale Auto Website:
Trossi and Monaco built a couple of Grand Prix racers with FWD and 9-cyl radial engines back in '34
I just wonder what a R2800 would be like out on the street :finga: Mustang & Camaro's look out...

The Continental 7 cylinder radial used in the M3 Stuart tank put out 250 BHP (or even a Guiberson diesel if you can tolerate the smoke). There is also a Wright R-975 used in the Sherman which is a 9 cylinder. They are already made for the job!
