Looks like Edgar Mitchell is getting sued by the U.S. government for a camera he took after his moon mission on Appollo 14. Can you beleive this? I don't care what anyone says or who is right about the issue. WTH are they going to do with an obsolete camera anyway? Edger Mitchell is a true American hero and he doesn't deserve to be treated like crap!

I figured Ed would have known this was coming...what with all of his ESP experiments and stuff.

If you ever read Andrew Chaikin's "A Man on the Moon" it documents his exploits on Apollo 14. A great all-around read...but with some pretty funny stuff on the individual missions. I guess Big Al Shepherd was none-too-pleased that Ed spent the time he was supposed to be sleeping on the mission trying to 'telepathically communicate' with his friends back on the earth.

Come on, NASA...give the guy a break.

Edgar may well be right.... They may have given it to him and simply lost the paperwork... How much paper do you think Nasa generates??? Its been 40 years.......

For that matter all the people who have had anything to do with this would be retired (long ago) or dead. Let the old guy sell the camera to suppliment his SS check. The feds would blow it on subsidizing the rich anyways.......

Moved to off-topic. Not sure of it's warbird relevance...

Sounds like NASA doesn't want to block the sale at auction as much as they want the profits from its sale.
Solving the budget deficit $60,000 at a time! (Oh wait, their lawyers are probably charging over $100,000 for this 'case'. Nevermind.)
