Since people seem to think that the off-topic section is for political discussion, something that is frowned upon, I have temporarily closed the section. ANY political discussions in any other forum will be deleted and the user suspended. I have had it with the politically motivated comments.

I am a Canuck. I will be in the California for a few days this week. I will be returning next week for a few weekends, including a trip to Reno. I have become addicted to my new smart phone, however the options my provider is offering for data roaming in the United States is absolutely ridiculous. Way too expensive. Silly expensive. Robbery really.
So........ Is it possible to get some kind of short-term internet roaming device in the U.S.? Can I just drive up to a Walmart and buy something? I would be looking at paying well over $150 for internet access is most hotel resorts in Reno, and I would like something that works on the road anyway.
I turn it over the WIX brain trust. What can you guys tell me?
