I just received this in my email. There is a planned upcoming outage...

Quote:
So that we can continue to store the hundreds of millions of photos our members share on Webshots, we have been making a few architectural changes to the site over the last few months. We are now ready for the last major change, but it is a big one and we will have to take the site down for an extended period of time.

The outage is scheduled for 7am PST January 18th, 2006 and could last for 24 hours, although we are making every effort to be up sooner than that. You may check on our progress in the Webshots blog, where our staff will keep you updated.

We value your photos as much as you do, so we are backing up all your data before we begin our changes. Rest assured, all your photos in your account: mrhenniger, will be there when we come back online.

Once the site comes back online, you will need to be running Webshots Desktop version 2.5 on your PC to upload personal photos via the client or download screensaver photos from the Community. When you install the latest version of the client, all of your photos will be updated and loaded into the new client. If you have further questions, please visit the help section of the site.

We appreciate your patience while we make these important changes.

The Webshots Team

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.
