not a world shaking headline in the aviation history community but i thought you'd all like to know that general tooey spaatz's home was recently sold at auction in boyertown pennsylvania. the home, all 47000 square feet of it!!! was built in 1920, sold for $390.000. assorted other spaatz memorabilia sold then as well brought the final auction $$$$ money total to $500.000. spaatz never lived in the house, but entertained countless military bigshots their over the years. it had been vacant since the mid 80's, fell into dissrepair. needless to say his heirs were happy with the price!!!
