I am curious to know if there are any other amateur radio operators lurking here on the WIX. If you're a ham and have a radio-related web site, post the link and we can all have a look!

My site is here: http://www.qsl.net/k5dh

There are a couple other VFM members who are hams, including our chief mechanic. We've batted around the idea of doing Field Day from the radio compartment of the B-17. Tow the airplane out onto the ramp, use a portable generator for power, run a dipole up the 80 foot flagpole in front of the main hangar, bring the feedline in through the top hatch... it could happen! It would be mighty doggone hot in there...

When we get the wire antennas installed on the B-17, I may attempt an airborne operation some time. I'd have to acquire a 24V to 12V power converter, but that should be no problem. My Icom 703 QRP rig should be plenty from "up there"!

73,
Dean K5DH
