OK Wade no more 4th FG P-51s.
Don't make me hide your paint brushes. :)
All the 4th ships look great but enough already :ouch:

Red Nosers!!!

I agree with Wade, never enough Red Nosers. My cousins airplane is represented as 'Red Dog XII" and is owned and flown by Duane Doyle. I would love to see "Blondie" or "Sweet Arlene" either one.

Ah, another discriminating man with excellent taste ...

Why look past the wide diversity of the 4th FG? I mean, heck, there's three squadrons to choose from!

Sheesh!

I humbly submit that, just as soon as any of the rest of us buy our first P-51s, we can paint them however we'd like...

Some good 15AF contenders there - oh hell, time's up: let's have a vote and tell (not request - TELL!)* the owner in question how he should paint his kite.

Send all your votes to me, and I'll email him the, uh, "results".

Ooooooh, no. There's the 336th, and then there's everyone else.

No argument there.

Funny thing - from an artist's perspective, 336's P-47s had some serious nose art, but that fell off somewhat when the Mustangs came along. 335 was never really in the race due to Blakeslee's influence as squadron CC, and Don Allen's ~60 nose art works graced 334 starting with the P-47s on through till the EOW.

Personally, I still have a few 4FG pieces in me. I'm working on sketches now for an upcoming Green/McKennon "rescue" scene. Hope to debut it at the '08 Savannah ASAA forum.

LOU IV

Sat Feb 10, 2007 12:55 am

Gentlemen,

I apologize, I'm not sure how the confusion regarding the paint scheme got started. Was it something I said? LOU IV wil stay LOU IV...forever and there was never any doubt. I was merely looking for information on the serial number. But, there were some great suggestions. Thank you all!

Regards,

John
