Hi guys!
We wound up working on our C-131 for a good part of the day as she is scheduled for an air show at Point Magu on the 31st of March. We have really got to bust it to get the annual done. As most of you know we have several airplanes to take care of and we don’t have as much help as we would like to do the job. It has always been a struggle but we manage some how to keep them flying. We also have to get the 131 out of the museum hangar. Our other hangar is already overflowing with aircraft. The SNJ, C-46, Bearcat, and Wildcat are also down for maintenance with show dates approaching. It is crunch time!
As to the PBJ we are making great progress with our control cables thanks to Iran and Jerry. We call them “the cable guys” and they work wonders. As soon as I get an air show schedule I will give out some dates.

Two years for the guys working on the right wing. We have ten guys. In the last five years we have rebuilt the belly, the tail, most of the top of the fuselage, the rear gunners cage, the nose, the bomb bay, all of the flooring. We find that if we assign different areas to different crews it keeps us from running into each other.

Oh and just one other note. Most of us just work one day a week on this. We are all volunteers. I wish we could work 40 hrs a week. We would be up in no time.
