Scatterbrain Kid II did have at least a two seat arrangment. The nose was a Hycon camera nose, but the second seat was the genuine M model bubble from the Champlin airframe. Champlin wanted to go back to a true L, so they swamped rear canopies. If I remember right Scatterbrain even had a Norden inside that glass nose. I only saw her one time and I was 8 so I don't remember exactly. It would be an interesting place to ride in a P-38, but I'm not sure I would want to do it.

BTW, I'm not sure if they has ever truely been resolved, but at the time "P-Screamers" was written, the exact serial number of this airplane was still a bit of a mystery.

Somewhere I have a pic of Scatterbrain at an airshow in south LA. after '74.
It was on its gear.

I never understood why no one has done a Night Lightning P-38M.
It's such a striking paint scheme and 2 place, especially if a rear canopy survived.
