In the absence of any flying (or so I thought) a wander round the hangars at Old Warden made me go all arty farty.

Nick...I understand the copyright stuff, but can't it go somewhere less intrusive than across the center? IMHO it detracts from the beauty of the picture.

At the moment I am trying it out to see if I can get o with it. I'm afraid the copyright will have to be more intrusive because I am sick and tired of seeing my pictures posted elsewhere and claimed by someone else.

Sorry mate, I will be trying other options as well so this may not be the final version.

MOTF, is the watermark less intrusive if he buys a copy?

I love that Grosvenor House Racer. Is that a real one, or a replica. I am pretty sure there is a replica that flies here in the U.S. that I see at KOSH every year.

Its THE original Comet racer G-ACSS "Grosvenor House". It is airworthy but currently awaiting undercarriage mods to rectify a known design fault with the system. This will make it safer to operate from Old Warden's runway.

Well, it's definitely an aeroplane, being verym, very, English...

There were five built, the first three for the MacRobertson Air Race from Mildenhall in England to Flemington Race Course in Melbourne, Australia, in 1934 - one of the great races.

G-ACSS was the winner of that race, and is currently the only complete, genuine survivor, although its been rebuilt and a lot of the original data has been lost over time. G-ASCP, 'Black Magic' is under rebuild at the moment, and you are right there is a flying replica in the USA as well. In addition there's a couple of full size (static) fibreglass examples too.

Lovely shots Nick - and a world first - the picture of Mustang 44-72035 in her new paint. So new its not 100% finished yet but the test flight went well. Name will go on this week.
