August,

While searching through the website I run, I came across a picture I posted from the Reno Air Races in 2005. Note the matching schemes that you posted wear the numbers 27 and 29. I wonder if these were restored by the same person?

Plausible although there seem to be some differences in the interpretation of the USCG paint scheme.

Anyway, my last set:

These pictures aren't the best, but here's an article from my museum's website about our founding member's N3N-3 he keeps up near Pender Harbour, BC.

David, can you find out if the aircraft is still on floats?????
I really want to get my dad a ride in one off the water!

I'm about 100% sure it's still on "float." Contact the CMF and ask for Bill Thompson's contact info. He's a nice enough fellow I'd imagine he'd be happy to take your father for a flight.

Cheers,

David

#4490 comming up on the step at Annapolis on the Severn River in the late 50's. This is a very well known pic. Thanks to Bill Larkins, I have another angle too!

Image
#4490 as she is today.

Image
#4480 was bought surplus from the navy in the 60's by G. E Moxon. This airplane was featured on the cover of AirClassics in the 70's. I have the cover pic framed on my wall.

Image
Here is 4480 back on floats but in a WW2 scheme at Yanks air Museum.
Another thanks to Tim for the new pic and Bill Larkins for my new Wall paper pic of N3N's lined up at Annapolis in the 50's. This pic also features 4480 sitting in the row.

Doing my digging. I have also noticed that there are MANY projects still out there hiding. If anyone is interested in a PROJECT N3N, I can give you some good leads.

It does look like that we should be up to 100 flying airplanes!
