Thanks for the tip. Is that "western most" hanger also the "nortern most" hangar? I am looking at one that more or less has a square foot print, while all the othere are long thing rectangles.

Anyways, thanks to you, I have spent long hours trying to make out shapes from Google Earth images, and trying to match them with my memory in order to better locate my aircraft sightings.

Mike...just saw your site (it's great !!) and the listing for Big Thicket Wing at Cleveland. The YO-55 (listed as O-55) is no longer at Cleveland but is in CAF hangar at Midland waiting for a new home (re-assignment). CAF aircraft at Cleveland - just the BT-13 at this time.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the Cleveland Wing has only a T-6, rather than a BT-13. Not nit-pickin', just trying to help.

And yep, the YO-55 is definitely here in Midland. I see the cute little bugger here everyday. A shame nobody wants it assigned to them.

We may be misunderstanding which Cleveland....this is Cleveland TEXAS Big Thicket Wing actually listed with CAF at Conroe TX. Their a/c is a BT-13....saw it month ago, am a sponsor and worked on it for about 15 years. I would be very happy if it magically changed to a 6 but alas. Maybe the T-6 is in Cleveland Ohio??????

Problem is that too many guys are too big to fly in it (height or girth). We have quite a cadre of Aircoupes here in Lancaster, and half of the guys at the wing are either too tall, to big, or both for them. They're nice planes though. I was given the suggestion by one of the Aircoupe pilots to just fly with the top open to fit...

LOL CAP....kinda true......I am altitude impaired so it was never an issue for me...although I flew it 99% of time with canopy open. When I switched to the O-2, one of our other guys in Wing flew it to shows for about a season......and he is 6'4" and I will not divulge his weight; I'm not sure he could have closed the canopy comfortably but, hey, it's hot in TX so fly with the wind in your face.

Aaahhh yes. I forgot to fix that one. Big Thicket was in Conroe at one time. It is now in Cleveland, TX. That correction will be in tonight's upload as well.

# 7 The Tex Hill Wing is located at the Gillispie County Airport, meeting sometimes in the Airport Convention center or in its' T hangar in the sotheast corner of the hangar collections. We operae a mighty Aeronca L-3 at this time. We are contiplating a move to Silver Hills Airpark 15 miles west of Fredericksburg in the near future.

When I can, I like to pinpoint the exact hangar. When you say "hangar collections" you mean the group of building to the north-west of the main ramp, correct? In that south east corner do you mean one of the two hangars side-by-side, or the one behind them? If one of the two side-by-side, which one?

#69: The Uvalde Aviation Museum is at Garner Field. Which building/hangar?

North-east corner of the airport property. Street wise, it is on the corner of the intersection of Garner Field Road and Sul Ross Drive.

Hello Mike, living here in Beercanridge(or Monastary on the prairie Gary Austin know's about that one!)I will tomorrow get u the cooridinates for the main museum building, although not all A/C are in one hanger, usually just two. A/C owned by Howard Pardue/ B.A.M.are as follows,Fm2 Wildcat,Grumman Bearcat,Hawker Fury(I.S.S.). Others are a J-3 modified to look like an L-4 and a staggerwing but are not part of the museum per say. Also do U want or need pic's of A/C like say the plainview T-33 or B-25 in Pampa or F-84 in Tulia, ect. ect......?If so I just bought one of them scaner/printer thingys and will try to fire it up tommorrow. Being is that I growed up in New Mexico some of those I know about but I don't remember if U mentioned the F-84 in Artesia? I have a photo or two of that bird from a couple of years ago. The T-33 in T or C was almost mine many years ago, the city wanted to pull it out of the park it was sitting in & scrap it! I told them I would buy it for the scrap value but a local airport group came up with the idea of restoring for display @ the airport. I left the state not long after that and never did know if the airport group restored it or not, I do know it was removed from the park!I have pictures of it somewhere will take some time to dig em out!
