incredible pics!!! the jet fly boat is awesome!! never saw it before!!!! what was that russian jet boat monstronsity from the 60' or 70's that looked like a warbird, but it wasn't???

that's the animal!!! coolskie!!! but, no wonder the russkies went bankrupt with that non flying behemoth!!! is the traditional jet flying boat still operational & in service?? the footage looks fairly recent.

Tom,

No, the "Caspian Sea Monster" is no longer active. It was taken out of service in, I believe, 1996. Real eye-opener, tho - could do 240 kts over the water :shock:

Oh, the irony, I only changed my avatar to a Beriev flying boat last week for more info see the link below, the photo section is pretty good with lots of old photos of their production and prototype aircraft including the "Caspian sea monster".
