Does anyone know if there are any of the "new build 190s" flying yet? I had heard that Rudy Frasca had bought one of the first of ten produced but have not seen anything of it on the airshow circuit. Any others that came here to the US or Canada that might be making appearances? Speaking of 190s...anybody have a progress report on how Weisse Eins is coming along? Is she still planned to be a flyer?

Thanks in advance :D

The original Flug Werk prototype is flying in Germany, and the first customer delivered FW-190 is flying in Florida (though I'm not sure if it's arrived yet from England).

"White 1" is being restored in Mesa, Arizona, and it's definitely being restored as a flyer (pending a load of parts and funds IIRC).

End of February I had visited the Flug Werk company to have a look at the first new build FW 190 D9 “Langnase”. Find some pictures within the lower half of my site:
http://www.pozefilm.de/fw190.html
Text is in German but if required, I will translate.

More new pictures of this are here:

Many thanks m.p. :D

I am curious about the caption under the "airliners" photo where it says that it is a "rebuild". Is that correct or is it a new build? Either way, seeing a Dora fly will be splendid indeed!

I've got it...next year at Thunder, let's get Mr Russel to bring in his Emil, along with one of the Doras and a 262 new build? SWEET!!!

This one is still based at Duxford with other aircraft owned by the same individual.

You are right, this is a new built. Text in airliners.net is wrong. Also wrong is the registration D-FWSC, cn 990003. This first example shown in the photo will go to Florida once finished. The second example will then be D-FWSC and remain in Germany. Major airframe components of a third D9 will be used in an rebuild in Belgian. See this pages for details:

Enjoy,
Manfred

In the video, is that how a 190 really sounds like?

It's still at Duxford, and hasn't yet flown.

That's what a Chinese ASh-82 radial sounds like in a Fw190 replica.

But I've read comments that the original BMW 801 would sound similar. The Paul Allen restoration or the White 1 example will have an 801 running soon.
