I was hoping a few more of my Longhorn friends and distinguished pilots like Ollie Crawford would join me on this site. As for edible mascots, Bevo might take a lot of tenderizer. However, at least real Amerkins eat beef, I think mutt is only on the menu in places like Peking.

Bevo would have to be on the left and Reveille on the right if you're going to use the Bo Derek criteria.
This is the first time I've posted here and, not to change the subject, I had the honor and privelege of accompanying Mr. Sam Celums on a flight in the Collings Foundation B-17 last Saturday evening. Mr. Celums was a bombardier with the 452nd BG in the ETO. He hadn't been around a B-17 in 62 years. He is 87 years old and in the care of a hospice in Rockport, Texas. We sat in the radio compartment during take-off. When airborne, it was obvious he wanted to be up front in his old chair. This we managed. You can't begin to imagine what goes thru the mind of a vet in this situation unless you've been there. Many thanks to the B-17 crew for a great ride. I took pictures, I'll try to learn how to post them, Bill.

Good point Bill!! We used to have a thread dedicated to veterans histories..but I can't find it. It should be a "sticky" on the hangar page given the "esprit de corps" of the WIX!

Django, I do like that nose art, if I had a bomber I'd defenitely have something similar. Now the CAF, could always use new and younger members. Maybe if they put Paris and Nicole on it would bring out the younger crowd. To me Lil always looked pretty drab in the old tan-pink paint, don't know if it was historic. The new colors look good as seen on WIX. Maybe it will say, "This space for rent" and go to the highest bidder sort of like some of the acro show planes.
