This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

All the help Wixers are giving is GREAT!!!, but maybe somebody could start collecting and saving copies of the terrific photos he has posted.
All of the photos that he posted that are still showing up in posts are still being stored in his photobucket account so I think at least those are safe. The worst part of the photo loss will be all the original high resolution scans and original pieces. If anyone has any high resolution copies that were sent by Jack those would be the ones to gather together because anything showing up on WIX posts are being stored safely on the photobucket server.
I hope him and his family are holding up well.

Think again. Photobucket is easily hacked -I know because a &^%$# deleted all the photos that I had posted here at WIX, from the photobucket account- so if there is another way to save them, I would highly advise NOT to leave them in the PB website.
I still have my originals, but the others are gone.

I've been in the process of moving from one house to another and haven't been able to seriously check the forum until today. Then I find this horrible news...
Jack, you and your family are in my thoughts. I am so sorry for your loss but I am equally as grateful that most of you got out fine.
As soon as I am settled in to the new place you can count on a donation from me.

Well, I personally haven't heard of this, however I think accessing the photos through the photobucket site would be much easier than going to the thousands of posts and saving them all. I'm not saying they are safe for the eternity of time, I mean that they are at least still in existence although unfortunately probably not in their high-res form. Since each image in a post is just a link to the server if they are off of the server they are off of the post. Just an idea and trying to save some people some time but I'm sure anyway they can be preserved would be helpful.

Is the Band of Brothers book auction still alive? If so, I'll go $400 for a good cause or if the bidding is above that already, let me know and I'll see about raising it. Thanks. PM me if needed.

Make sure that you are watching both threads as we have posted some auction goods on "What can we do for Jack?"
Scott, call the auction and when you are satisfied with the bid, let me know the winner and I will send the jacket.

The best of luck to Jack and his family. This should be a reminder to everyone, make sure you have smoke detectors that are in good working order!
