This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Lots of aircraft at the west end of runway. Mostly commercial but there are junkers as well. I need a new monitor. Just a shot in the dark if anything is interesting.

Looks like a lot of Russian stuff, airliner/Cargo mainly.

Junkyard36 - You can also just go to google, type in the name, and then just click on MAP above and to the right of where you typed the name. When you get the map, click on SATELLITE and you see the field.
Anybody know what the four-engined, twin-tailed prop plane at the left end of the row might be?

For the group of aircraft at the west end of the runway, centered at 8.51.23S 13.13.35E, you have:
2xIL-62
1xC-130/L-382
6xAn-24/26
3xYak-40
2xB-707(?)
For the group further east, centered at 8.51.17S 13.13.58E, you have:
3xB-707
8xAn-24/26
1xAn-12
1xB-727
For George: what are the coordinated of the twin-tail acft?

Old SAR pilot - I don't have google earth, but in the image I got, there is a group of 13 aircraft in the dirt between the runways, to the right on my screen from the other groups of planes. They are somewhat in a hap-hazard line, with three large jet airliners on the far right. I wasn't able to zoom in all the way, but on the left end of the row is what looks to me like a straight-winged, 4-engined, twin-tailed prop plane. A closer zoom would have certainly helped.

George,
What appears to be twin tails isn't. It's an An-12 - closer look shows single vertical stabilizer shadow on right horizontal stabilizer.
