Well everybody, I'm officially a daddy. My wife gave birth to our daughter, 6 lbs 10 oz. She's absolutely gorgeous...can't figure out how she can be related to me!

In case anybody's wondering, there is a warbird connection...I got the idea for her name from the JN-4 :). Just don't tell my wife!

Congrats on the new arrival! :D

I can't even remember when my two boys were that little. They are now 12 & 14 and have turned into smart-ass little teenagers. Man...am I feeling old. :?

Congrats on the new addition! Sleep as you know it is now a thing of the past. :)

The best advice I can give is to enjoy every minute of it because she will grow up in the blink of an eye!

Congrats on the little girl. We have a little girl that is not little anymore. She is 17 and 5ft 7in tall. They grow up faster than you think. Brace your self for prom dresses and boyfriends.

She's positively beautiful. Glad to hear both mom and daughter came through the event safely.

Have fun, and don't forget to laugh when she gets poop on your hands!

Like most pilots it looks like you are a sucker for a young girl! Babies are kind of like warbirds, they require a lot of care, make a lot of noise, and leak a lot of fluids. They are, of course, worth it. Of course life as you knew it is now over; you won't miss sleep, sex, or solitude will you? When they are little they all look a lot like Winston Churchill. Enjoy every minute if it, all too soon they grow up. Want a tip in raising em smart as they get older? No TV, don't even have it around. We had a hippy family here who raised three kids literaly in a teepee in the woods, no electricity, so no tv. Two were valdictorians of their high school class, the last one slipped a bit and was only salutorian, ie 2nd highest grade averaqe.

Thanks everybody!

Oddly enough, the whole "sleep" thing hasn't been a problem; she'll eat for 10-15 minutes and then sleep for 5 hours straight. She won't cry unless there's a dirty diaper, which after a year of scraping birds off the runway is NOTHING! All our formerly-pregnant friends are quite jealous.

As far as boyfriends are concerned, I think I'll just shoot the first one in the knee so word's out on the street ;).

And Bill, I definitely appreciate the advice but about warbirds leaking a lot of fluids..surely you aren't referring to that magnificent Merlin of yours as well, are you? :D

Cheers everybody

Congratulations and welcome to fatherhood! It's a challenging, yet very rewarding job. Wait until she smiles the first time, it'll melt your heart.
