Hi All

I was in the UK over the past month and visited 37 aircraft related sites and took 4000 + shots. I have started putting them up on my webshots account and you are welcome to have a look.

The first 400 are of the Duxford 10 October airshow - a bit cloudy and dark but there are 4 sets of shots at the end of my site so go to the Duxford 10 October airshow pages. I will be adding the rest of the trip when I finish editing them

Welcome back John!

Marvelous pics mate! You've convinced me to save the pennys & get to Duxford for the airshow in 2005.

You missed an "interesting" airshow back here at Amberley while you were away. Lots of current heavy metal, but from a warbirds perspective, the RAAF museum Mustang flying lead in a formation aeros routine with the Roulettes was worth seeing (& hearing).

Not a lot of antiques.

Other than the RAAF 'Stang, there was also the Caboolture 'Stang and one of their Wirraways. Also Kim's shiney Trojan, Winjeel A85-438, Aerotech's Stearman, a few Tiger Moths and the Porter's beautiful DH84 Dragon.......ahhhhhh

I promise to post the Amberley pics tomorrow John!!!

what was at Amberly in terms of warbirds/antiques.

Heres some pics from the show you missed while trekking around the UK.

On past track record it will probably be another 10 years before we see another show at Amberley

It was certainly a sight to see the Mustang in formation with the Roulettes. It was interesting to note the physical similarities between the two. It got me thinking, with the price of a Mustang being substantially less than a PC-9 perhaps we could get the Government to replace the Roulettes' PC-9s with P-51s as a cost cutting exercise?

Hi Martin,

Hmmmm.......Problem is spares for the CA18/P51 cost a bundle, as does AVGAS, & the PC-9 is as reliable & "maintenance free" as any military aircraft ever could be.

Otherwise, a nice thought!

Now, lets see...a FAC P51..deffinitely has possibilities
