Here's a link to a short story about two airmen who lost their lives at a place now called Indian Ledge Park, in Trumbull. And yes they messed up the name in the story. I still want to get a metal detector and see if i can find anything. Apparently they were doing a training flight.

There is a small honorary plaque there to commemorate the two airmen as well. A Lt. Rodney L. Stokes of Liberty, Mississippi and Sgt. Julis G. Skygerg of DeSmet, South Dakota.

I have been trying to find out, what airfield they were coming from? What they were flying in? And if there are any pictures of the crash?

Anybody wanna try there hand at some sleuthing? Any info would be appreciated.

WK,

According to aviationarchaeology.com, the a/c was an AT-11, 42-37184, out of Ellington Field, TX.

 Wow, didnt expect a two engined AT-11.

I thought it would be a BT-13 or somthing like that! Thanks I appreciate the info.

Now my question is. Why was this AT-11 from TX in CT?
