We had a neat little airshow in Chilliwack, BC this past Sunday and we were greeted with a wonderful aerial display by a Skyraider from the aviation museum in Bellingham. I Forget the exact name of the museum. Regardless, the show he put on in the Skyraider was wonderful with low and fast fly pasts. I'd never really appreciated the airplane until I saw it a few days ago.

Quite a nice airplane.

Cheers,

David

That would have been Alan Anders in "The Proud American". It used to be all silver but was painted in VN camo last winter.

One of the aircraft of the Heritage Flight Museum at Bellingham.

Thanks for the compliments, I'll pass 'em along...

Enough beer makes anything sexy.

But the Skyraider is sexy especially when it's low on the deck. It's Beauty and the Beast wrapped all into one package.

Gary Austin,
Did you miss this? Or were you so disgusted you couldn't post a reply?

Okay, sorry for the late reply here, but I would've never thought in a gazillion years that my picture and the word "sexy" would ever appear in the same text. All I could think is that y'all have completely lost your minds!

However, I did like Eric's recovery with the description of me being much like a Skyraider. Thanks! :D

Did that Skyraider used to belong to Bob Pond? I cleaned that beast one time after a flight. It was so oily that I kept sliding down the wingwalk!

No, the aircraft that Pond had now belongs to Brent Hisey in OK City.

And I didn't even get a ride. :(

Guess that's why the B-36 hung the engines off the back.

It's ot yer looks so much as it is the way you move in a zombie-like state all over an aircraft on no sleep and make it look like it did 60+ years ago without cutting yer own arm off.
